Le Maitre is the largest manufacturer of pyrotechnics in the UK and currently has the most modern and efficient production facilities in Europe. We are part of the Le Maitre group, which manufactures and then distributes pyrotechnics and smoke machines to virtually every country across the globe. Le Maitre is one of the only companies who has the resources and experience to specialise in manufacturing explosives.

Le Maitre manufactures ninety five percent of stage pyrotechnics used in the UK, and all West End Theatres and large concert halls are conversant with the Le Maitre range. We currently train many Fire Officers, Health and Safety Executives and Production Managers at our seminars and workshops to understand the firing systems and promote the safe use of pyrotechnics at all venues.

Le Maitre comprises of five separate divisions: - Manufacturing, supply, contract work, Equipment Hire and outdoor displays. The manufacturing and R&D for new product takes place at our factory, surrounded by several acres, led by Dr John Perriam. This allows us good storage and testing facilities for continuing lines and developing new product. Supply is purely the distribution of pyro to customers in the UK and dealers worldwide. The contract work is extremely varied and covers Events from Rock ‘n’ Roll concerts to West End shows, such as Phantom of the Opera and We Will Rock You. We are often contracted to design and fire pyro for new car launches, Disney on Ice shows, openings of buildings, clubs, restaurants and shops. We continue to design and fire numerous shows for corporate launches, TV and films. Our product is shown on all Award ceremonies for pop artists including The MTV, MOBO and BRIT Awards for live and TV audiences. Our Outdoor displays range from such contracts as The Edinburgh Festival, to the G7 Summit display, which was fired from the roof of Buckingham Palace in the presence of her Majesty The Queen and the world’s great leaders.

In the UK, our three major theme parks, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Alton Towers, all use Le Maitre product and, in the States, Disneyland, Warner brothers and Universal also use Le Maitre. At Euro Disney Paris, we specifically designed new and innovative pyro for their Stunt show attraction in the Walt Disney Studios. Le Maitre is fortunate enough to have the most distinguished client base of any firework company in the world today, and has won the largest and most prestigious contracts ever awarded. Le Maitre specialises in all types of outdoor displays, whatever the venue. We have the experience to design around obstacles that in many cases, are impossible for most firework companies to overcome. Le Maitre also has the experience to organise total productions, which cover entire Events from entertainment such as contracting celebrities, to organising lighting, rigging, staging, sound and lasers. Le Maitre also won the contract for the Millennium Dome, designing and firing pyrotechnics for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Dome, and for the three shows per day staged over the 12 months the venue was open.
